The End

For those that care:

I originally intended for this strip to run for 52 episodes, which would have it take a year to read weekly. But I have been working on this stupid thing for over three or four years now (I've lost track). I have a habit of working on it, and then putting it aside for several months and coming back to it. But at this juncture in the strip, I have decided to kill it and just give it up. Maybe at some point in the distant future, I will have time to sit down and finish this piece, but right now, I am kind of sick of this whole project. I must apologize to the 2-3 people who may have actually taken the time to read this. Sorry I couldn't finish it. I am just as disappointed in myself as I'm sure you are...

That's fucked up man... People loved it at Walrus Comix.. It got a lot of views every day...

You shouldve continued on with it...

It wasn't two or three people.. it was more like 150-200 people everytime we put up a new one.. and Im sure the numbers wouldve grown if you had stayed with it...

People are assholes... they'll enjoy what you do and never comment on anything.. so you get to feel like what youre doing is meaningless.. like you're in a vacuum.. they won't tell you until years after that they liked anything you did..

That's why you have to work for yourself... I know it's discouraging.. But I say don't kill the project.. your halfway through.. finish it up and work on something else.. It's an interesting strip.. finish it so you have a complete work done.. then you can start on something fresh and be energized by the fact that you have a finished project under your belt...

Hey Barry,

I came across your name on the TCJ message boards and decided to check out your stuff. It's a damn shame to hear you've canned this, as I was really enjoying it.

Seriously, I just glanced a few over and was so impressed by the inventive layouts and tone that I decided to read it through from the start.

It's excellent stuff, full of whimsy and strangeness and I love how the dinner intersects with Bub and Wally. I really liked the direction it was going - distrust and betrayal, and him being the only one invited... a wee Shining vibe there, 'you've always been the caretaker Mr. Torrance'!

I didn't actually know who Owerks was, but a bit of wiki and the Simpsons based on his time with Disney has been pretty informative.

Well great stuff Barry, do let the world know if you ever decide to go back to this..!
